I’m so happy I found this recording. It was up on the shelf behind the chinese bobblehead where nobody looks anymore. I played Fez many times. It’s wonderful to have one of the shows
on the books. I played my first real solo show at Fez. It’s indescribably fabulous. My most dearest friend Ellen was the booker there and she thought I could do it. I did not. Anywho, I think I was pretty terrible that first time. Hopefully this recording proves that I got a little better. Good bunch of songs, bad patter, passive heckling, Ray Neal, milk shakes,The Macallan, and that kind of New York audience I love. Looks like it was right after my birthday, so I was probably a little wiser? I am. Listener, this was a perfect night. Thank you for coming. -MM-

Recorded in 2018, after the last otherwise publicized activity of the band, this album could be described as sort of an acoustic "best of" album. On the one hand, this might just be for the diehards, but it does a good job showing what the band's about for newcomers. Compared to their overall catalog, Doublethink is closest in execution to Me and Mr. Ray and would make a good bonus disc if the latter finally got a new CD pressing. greencakenow
